Austin, TX (June 24, 2010)... McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc. (MHI) celebrates its nomination for the Austin Business Journal "2010 Going Green Awards" in the category of Green Builder – Residential Project. The awards ceremony took place on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Westin Hotel at the Domain.
MHI was recognized by the Austin Business Journal as a business helping to lead the effort to protect our environment. The "2010 Going Green Awards" honors those in Central Texas who make efforts to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into their businesses and community work.
"It’s an honor to be nominated for such a prestigious award from the Austin Business Journal," says Dennis Werner, Sales Manager/MHI.
MHI, the first volume builder in the Green Built Texas Program, created its Eco Smart platform for its signature brands – Plantation Homes and Coventry Homes to provide consumers in Central Texas with an energy efficient and environmentally responsible alternative in a new home purchase.
Werner went on to state that what separates MHI from others in the homebuilding industry is, "MHI’s Eco Smart program solidifies the link between ENERGY STAR® and GREEN Building. Through the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program, each home is ENERGY STAR certified on an individual basis - every home is individually tested and certified by independent, EPA certified raters. MHI is Verified Green through the Green Built Texas protocol and complies 100%."
MHI has established itself as an industry leader in Green Building practices for the new home industry. The Eco Smart platform allows the builder to provide Texas consumers with homes that are cleaner, healthier and more cost efficient.
MHI is ranked among the top 30 homebuilders in the nation, according to Builder Magazine and since 1988 has helped more than 35,000 families realize their dream of owning a new home. Building in the five largest markets in Texas, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, MHI offers added flexibility for homebuyers and developers alike with distinct brands, including Plantation Homes, Pioneer Homes, Coventry Homes, and Carmel Builders.
